Reframe Retirement And Longevity
I believe our human adventure remains wide open; regardless of age. We remain driven by curiosity, by ourselves and in intergenerational communities of encounters and exchanges. We want to see further ahead, move more, and keep exploring. We have a boundless capacity to imagine, organize, exchange and create. Our expectations are based in reality; not the illusions of yesterday. We move forward with both doubt and hope. We believe we have both the capacity and capability to do more, be more and grow more.
The Reframe Retirement and Longevity coaching process uses evidenced based tools, proprietary strategies, and experiential insights to help you navigate your next chapter in life. You will look back through the lens of experience, and decide how you want to infuse your future with those values, interests and strengths to support your longevity.
Mitigate Gendered Age Bias
Your age and gender shouldn’t be barriers to your success; yet every day, they try to be. Here’s what you will learn, as I have on the front lines of challenging these biases everyday:
Your age, circumstances, religious beliefs, gender identity, or profession doesn’t limit your potential. You already have everything it takes to succeed.
I am not too old, and neither are you. We need to stop saying ‘I’m too old for that.’
We go farther together. Let's collaborate with other women rather than compete with one another. We accomplish so much more when we recognize that success isn’t finite—there’s enough for all of us.
Build alliances with male colleagues and associates will amplify our impact. We don't have to do this alone.
Take risks, even if you think they are not ‘age-appropriate’. In fact, especially if you think that they are!
Build gender and age equality within your organization shouldn't be just a goal; it must be an action we lead by example, and letting society catch up.
Don’t wait for someone else to pave the way. Take action. And don’t give up!
Retirement On Your Own Terms
Retirement is more than finances and insurance. Retirement is about creating a new framework for living that includes meaning, connection and fun. For some it may also include compensation. Here’s what you will learn about retirement on your own terms:
Passing on our knowledge and learning something new is more than simply learning from one’s teacher or master. Yes, skills are passed on, and both of you are able to shape your future and become part of it. Learning something new at this age breeds continued autonomy, creativity and satisfaction.
Think of what’s next from the perspective of intergenerational community, collaboration and abundance. We will not become invisible and silent in our life engagement.
One’s reflection of mortality can bring about a renewed sense of urgency and engagement. If not now, then when takes on a healthy dose of enthusiasm. Our lifespan is linear and we occupy a place of relative importance. We get to decide how long we want to actively engage in our lives in the world at large.
Reclaim our passions and purpose goes way beyond the notion of work. Think about all the work relationships, your daily tasks, assignments and responsibilities that you will leave behind; and how you will replace those with people and responsibilities of your choosing.
